Certified Professional Photographers

When you need a Dr, Accountant, electrician, plumber, or even a mechanic, you look for someone with education and experience. Someone with credentials in their field. Did you know that in the professional photography industry you can do the same? A Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) is someone that cares enough to get educated in lighting, posing, the finer points needed to consistently produce a quality product for their clients. Unlike those that just grab a camera and print up a card calling themselves professional, a certified professional photographer has studied their craft, and gone thru the process of submitting a collection of images to the certification panel as well as taking an in depth test.

There are also other photographic credentials available thru Professional Photographers of America (PPA). A Master of Photography (M. Photog.) is achieved by taking several hours of education courses and successful participation in the PPA International Photographic Competition.

Photographic Craftsman is another. The Craftsman (Cr.) is achieved through education as well as teaching others. This can be done at seminars, conventions, workshops and schools affiliated with the PPA.

SO when is comes to trusting the memories and heritage of your family, take a moment to think about who you want to hire. Someone that thought it would be fun to take pictures or someone who cares enough to work at their craft to give you the best.
